And It Begins...

Here is the shot from this morning. (7am and earlier than JR wants to be awake) After a week of not really being sure of what to make of Naomi, Gideon asked to hold her. And since this morning, he has continued to want to hold her, feed her, and check up on her. It's really sweet.
My mom, "Gigi", has been with us since an hour before my water broke, but left today around noon. She was such a great help, despite the fact that she was sick. She cooked, cleaned, cuddled, played... took whatever kid needed to be tended to... She was awesome.
And here she is with both of her grandchildren. She wanted this picture taken in case her flights today go down. :) Ok, she's awesome, but also a little paranoid about air travel.

Thanks, Gigi, for helping out.

And now it begins... We are now a family of four and during the day I am taking care of both of my children by myself. And despite the fact that I'm not supposed to pick up my son for a few more weeks (ya, right) it's going really well.

I even got a nap and a shower in while both of the kids were snoozing. Gideon took a 3 1/2 hour nap, and I have to wake Naomi up to eat. Who would've guessed that I would have been able to blog, do laundry and dishes? Not me!

Daisha,
Congratulations on your new baby girl! It sounds like you are doing great adjusting to life with 2 babies. I know how difficult it is trying to figure out how to handle a newborn and a toddler. Lawson will be 3 months old tomorrow and I still have my moments of crying along with the kids. Thankfully, the Lord somehow gives you the strength to get through those rough times and rewards you with smiles and coos before you know it. Congratulations again - She is beautiful!
Talk to you soon,
Shelley

I love the picture with your mom -- and I hope she made it home without the plane falling out of the sky.

Gideon looks so proud in that first picture! What a great big brother!

I tell you, that Gideon has the most winning smile I've ever laid eyes on!

You are a trooper--keep it up. There will be good days and not so good days. Treasure them both for what they are and keep telling yourself how quickly the time goes by.
