Our Mission Statement

As a family of servants of God, we seek to Glorify Him by offering our lives as living sacrifices, being intentional about engaging people with Christ and the Gospel, and using the talents and training He has given us through grace to proclaim the Gospel of Grace to those near and far.

Week in Review {Jan. 22-29}

Last Sunday, our family returned to Grace Crossing.  Walking in was like coming home.  :)  Class was good, rich and deep.  Worship was Christ-centered.  The lesson gave me a new perspective that was drawn from Scripture.

Afterwards we were invited with friends to head to someone's house.  There we met like-minded couples from churches all over the area.  While we ate and visited, JR and I were both struck by how the Gospel infused all of the conversations.

We were blessed by our time last Sunday.

The major news of this week is that JR resigned his SA Presidency.  With this being his last semester, us working on raising funding for Scotland, and everything else going on, he didn't feel that he would be able to devote the time and attention that position required.

I didn't take many photos this week.  But one of the fun things our family has started doing (urged on by Naomi) is that we take turns "auditioning" for "American Idol".  :)  Let me tell you... Naomi is the Simon Cowl of our family. ;)

Our family has been more focused on being healthy this year.

Towards that end, I've been working out at least 3 times a week, and JR has been doing great with keeping up with his running and weight training.

On afternoon, we all hit the gym as a family.

This is a photo I took with my iTouch (as I was on the eliptical) of Naomi doing push-ups.  She actually had pretty good form. :)

Gideon was right out of camera "boxing". :)

Thursday, after I'd picked up the kids from school, we were looking for something to do.  It was raining, so we were stuck inside.

I got out my video camera (on the iTouch) and made this video.  (Disclaimer:  This is VERY indicative of how the kids are right now.  G's section is a little tedious, but it's just showing his conversational pattern right now.)

Friday nights have become our "Family Movie Night".  JR (literally) runs to the Red Box, rents a movie, and we enjoy it cuddling on the couch.  This week, we watched "Mr. Popper's Penguins".  And, while it was NOTHING like the book we read last fall... it was still good.  And the kids came up with which penquins (from the movie) we each were.  JR is "Stinky", I'm "Captain", Gideon is "Lovey", and Naomi is "Loudy".  :)  (I think that is pretty accurate.) :P

Yesterday, after running errands as a family, we played a family game of Battleship.
 But first... JR was doing push-ups and Naomi climbed up on his back:
 Cuteness...right? ;)

This has been a good week.  This coming one will contain Naomi's 4th birthday!
