Well, maybe not quantifiable... but he's up there...
Today Gideon started SPONTANEOUSLY signing for things. We've been working on signs off and on for a while... but today it seemed to all gel for him. Before he would make the sign after I did the sign... and recently he started signing when I would say the word, but today HE was the one who came up to me signing.
He asked for a drink. He asked for lunch... he asked for "more"... I'm tellin' ya, this kid is smart.
And then when he was finished he said, "Ahh duh" (all done).
I'm so proud of how he is learning to communicate.
OH, and he sits down with only me saying "sit down". I don't have to pat the floor or point or anything.
My parents are traveling down here for Gideon's birthday party (tomorrow), his birthday (Sunday), and his surgery (Thursday). So I don't know if I'll get the slideshow of his party up until next week, but I'll try.

So cool -- congratulations! I'm excited to do signing with my kids, too...when they come along. (Just for the record, that wasn't an anouncement or anything.)
