Who Needs Hurricanes? Try an Earthquake!

Ok, so we're at church and we're in the middle of the Lord's Supper. It is quiet, plates are being past around and I bend down, rest my elbows on my legs a bit to read some Biblical text. All of the sudden I felt about 10 seconds of soft swaying and I look up and around, then back down to my Bible and think to myself "Man, that felt like an earthquake."

As quickly as I thought about it (for about 15 more seconds) I forgot about it.

So Daisha and I go out to lunch, come home and take naps. I wake up around 4:30pm, watch some football (Cowboys vs Jaquars were on here) then hop online to check the news and fantasy scores.

I hop on Drudge and notice on the right column he has an earthquake notice from the Gulf of Mexico, centered in the Gulf of Mexico - SSW of Tallahassee. It measured a 6.0! I read the news reports and it turns out the most effected areas were the Luisiana Gulf Coast and Florida Gulf Coast along with southern Georgia and that it happened at 10:56am! (during the Lord's Supper)

NO WAY! It really WAS an earthquake! How odd is that? I KNEW I felt something!

So hey, who needs hurricanes when you have earthquakes?

Cool experience. Thought I'd share.

that sounds very similar to my experience... i was at work in alexandria when i thought i felt some swaying. i didn't think much of it until i heard on the radio that there was a small earthquake in northern virginia! all those times we were in california and we have to be in virginia and florida to feel earthquakes!

oh... and we get live football here... i watched some of the denver game before i switched over to the atlanta game last night (started at 7pm my time). very cool! unfortunately, the night games for you are very early in the morning for me. so i won't be watching those live. :)

I remember that earthquake Kelli. I wasn't in the office though... I was home in Vienna for some reason and felt it. I remember talking to you about it afterwards and no one else in the office noticed it.

ditto birthday wishes...
