Gideon was great on the planes. In fact, the ladies across the aisle from us told me that I was allowed to have more children. :)
We got to Memphis right before Mom hit town. So Claudia and her boyfriend, Ryan, had to drop us by Claudia's place and then get Mom.
The reaction Mom had to seeing Gideon and me standing in Claudia's room was priceless. We have a video of it. (But I think the way my camera is set up to take video makes the files too big to post them on the blog. I'm still working on that.)
The weekend with Claudia and Ryan was great. We spent the majority of the time shopping.
A cute thing happened Friday during the night. Gideon was sharing the queen-sized bed with me. After his early morning feeding, I laid him back on his side of the bed. He looked at me, crossed the 8 in. between us and kissed my cheek. (It was so sweet!)
And once we finally got to Searcy, Papa Dan had a blast with Gideon as well. Especially at church... I barely got to touch my son. His grandparents were SO excited to show him off. :)
And over the weekend, Gideon sat up all by himself for over a minute. We work on that new skill every day to build up his strength. He also started eating cereal. And that has helped him start sleeping through the night again. (9:30 pm to 8 am)
Once we got back to Tallahassee, we had a new living arrangement. Debby (JR's mom) has moved in with us until she buys a house here. So Gideon is finally able to spend some time with his Grandma.
Gideon is continuing to enjoy cereal. However, he has an "I'll-do-it-myself" attitude which paved the way for our first battle of wills today. He was trying so hard to grab the spoon and feed himself that he was getting food everywhere. I told him that I was in charge and he started screaming. So that ended the cereal portion of his meal. (I will win. I'm the momma.)
Oh, we tried to take some pumpkin pictures yesterday. However, it was 88 degrees with 90% humidity at 10:30 am here in Tallahassee. Not conducive to fall pictures. Gideon and I both got cranky and over-heated, so we left early and visited JR and Debby in their offices. I think we'll have another opportunity tomorrow for pumpkin pictures and it should be cooler. (Have I mentioned my lack of enthusiasm for FL weather?)
Well, I'd better go... Gideon is calling.

Hey! I will pay you money if you DON'T figure out how to put that video of me on the internet.

Yes, you will win. The only reason I made such a stubborn child is because I'm pretty stinkin' stubborn myself ... and I always win. :)
I'm headed to Searcy for Homecoming next weekend. I don't suppose you'd take those trips back to back? We'll meet up sometime ...
my battle of wills with rachel involves her wanting to take her bib off while she's eating. the velcro bibs may seem convenient, but they don't help my cause. however, like you said, i will win!
