This blog is no longer private. Sorry for the few months of snobbery. :) (I know it's not really snobbery that makes blogs go private.)
I've been doing a lot of thinking and self-examining, and I realized that my motives for going private we not really valid. And on top of that, it followed on the heels of posts about living our journey to bring God Glory. (And the I shut people out of following that journey.)
I will be doing the majority of my family postings (which will happen more regularly) on my other blogsite: www.DLifeful.com
Please add that blog to your blog rolls. RSS the Sheets clan there. Follow JR on Twitter and facebook. And of course, JR's blog: www.jrsheets.blogspot.com
I'm not shutting down this blog, but I probably won't post on it too often. (mainly duplicates of the other posts)
Thanks for making the move with the family!

Quick Visit
Reactions:

JR's dad stopped through town after moving his parents into an assisted-living situation in OK. So we got to see him.
The kids warmed up quickly to him. I was in rehearsals most of the day, but we all were able to eat dinner together and set up the church bldg. for the 8:30 service. The above picture was what I captured with my cell phone.
The kids sound so cute when they are saying, "Grampa, I love you."

Pumpkin Patch
Reactions:
Above is the slide-show from our family trip to the pumpkin patch. We had a blast on our family trip. We played everything by ear and went with the flow.
Here are some of the photos I've edited. And you can see more on my photography blog.
I also need your opinions about if you like how I edited some of the photos.
Here's the original edited photo:

And the extra edit...

And the same with Naomi...

Some cuteness to end on...

Enjoy!

Toy Story
Reactions:

Last Wednesday, since JR had a week off from classes, the two of us took JUST Gideon to see "Toy Story I and II" in the theater in 3-D!! We let G pick the place we ate (Burger King) and he also got to pick out candy to smuggle into the theater.
Except for 3 other teenage girls, we had the theater to ourselves. It was a BLAST!
Naomi, in the meantime, was hanging out with the Burchfields. Apparently Joe (who is G's preschool class) tried on 3 different outfits before Naomi made her arrival. And he took "prodigious good care" of her. I think Joe has a crush on N. :)
In other news...
Naomi started counting this weekend. Saturday, my mom put some marshmallows ("Marmos!") on her plate and N spontaneously counted them as they fell. She got up to 6. So we've been testing her ever since. Today she was "sorting" Tassie's (my parent's dog) dog toys and counted by herself to 10!!! (She's a genius!)
And the sad thing is, I can't take credit for teaching her. She has a pig that the Scott's got her for her birthday that counts. It taught her. But... I let her play with it. :)

Naomi is 20 months old!
Reactions:

This is how she rolls.
Naomi is totally crazy. She is impulsively sweet and incredibly nurturing. She imitates EVERYTHING Gideon does.

Her verbal skills are through the roof. She will attempt to repeat anything she hears. But she has enough vocabulary to tell a story.
She has a quirky sense of humor and she enjoys using it as much as possible. It is not uncommon for her to out of the blue yell, "Wall-i!"
Her musical library is getting bigger too. In addition to the Seeds Family Worship songs I've mentioned before, she has also joined Gideon in singing "Sunday Clothes" from "Hello, Dolly" (the song is also on "Wall-i").
Naomi continues to be strong-willed and determined. Which isn't always fun, but I know it will serve her well as she faces a world that doesn't hold the Father dear.

She gets prettier and prettier every day. Her hair is getting really long. And, folks, she's getting skinny. I had to cinch in the waist on her jeans for the first time in her life. She is fitting back into clothing she was too big for this summer!

Naomi is all about anything princess. She uses the word all the time. And apparently anything bright pink is also "princess."
Speaking of colors, whereas G guessed all items were blue, Naomi first guesses green, when she finds out it's not green, she guesses yellow. Sometimes she moves on to purple. About 50% of the time she gets those 3 colors right.
She sometimes counts. And she usually fills in the blanks if you leave something out. Toward that end, she can help me "read" the Curious George books. Mom and I leave blanks for her to fill in. It's really cute.
We are beginning the potty-training process. We aren't doing it hard-core until after the musical. But she's starting to get interested in it. She has used the toilet successfully before. And occasionally we will let her spend some time in underwear (which she loves b/c they have princesses on them).
And since she's so into princesses, that will be what she dresses up as for Halloween. We looked at fabric yesterday and she knew what fabrics she liked and which ones she DIDN'T like. So she will be a purple princess. (I'll have to make up the dress before I can post pictures.)
We love Naomi so much. (I can't believe that she's days away from being the same age that Gideon was when she was born.)
